Personality: Often goofy and fun loving, Kurs is a light-hearted member of the Jedi Order. In dark times such as these humor is often passed up, especially in Stoic orders like the Jedi. He does have a high level of maturity, though, as he often offers a voice of reason in many situations. He is a skilled teacher, and many of his students in the Order, as well as his former Padawan, have moved on to become great knights in the Jedi ranks. Kurs Janta prefers a defensive form of combat, often only engaging enemies when only absolutely necessary.
Appearance: 6'1", 160lbs., dark green skin, black-blue eyes, 14 lekku with a gold ring around the end of each lekku, small burn scar on right cheek.

Armor/Clothing:
Set 1: Dark blue tunic with dark blue robes, black shoulder armor, black cortosis gaunlets, black shin guards and knee guards, black boots, hip holster on left leg for a blaster, lightsaber hilt holsters on right hip for both lightsabers.
Set 2: Traditional brown Jedi robes, light brown tunic, easily removable sandals, Lightsabers clipped at the belt on opposite sides.
Vehicle: Praesidia IV: Simiyiar-class light freighter, designed on Mon Calamari, she's a small ship, but heavily armed, with two missile tubes and two rear mounted laser cannon turrets added to its stock arsenal of two laser cannon turrets (front mounted) and ion cannon. Her defenses include a shield generator and an auxiliary shield generator. Also contains a small water tank (with Gungan shield technology for entry and exit) in Kurs's private quarters in which Kurs sleeps and meditates. The Praesidia IV was used by Jedi Master Eegan Marent (Kurs Janta's former Jedi Master) preceding his death. She is 26.3 meters long, and can carry up to 5 passengers and 150 metric tons of cargo.
History: Kurs Janta was born to a Middle-Class family of Nautolans on Glee Anselm. At the age of two he was discovered to be Force sensitive by a Jedi Master who was on assignment to retrieve another Force Sensitive child in the same city. He was taken to Yavin 4, where he grew up learning the ways of the Jedi, until the age of 12 when he became a Padawan under Jedi Master Eegan Marent, a Mon Calamari.

Kurs trained under Marent for 7 years, following his master on several missions dealing with out of hand pirates and smugglers, and even the occasional bounty hunter. They were assigned to a mission in the Outer Rim, to Tatooine, to deal with the kidnapping of a Jedi Knight by a notorious Hutt gangster. When they arrived to discuss terms of their comrade's release, they were ambushed. Marent was killed during the ambush, and Kurs was forced to flee from the overwhelming group of bounty hunters. Kurs only managed to salvage his master's blue lightsaber, which he still carries to this day.

Kurs underwent the trials of Knighthood in the months following his master's death, and became a prestigious knight in the Order. He trained a human Padawan named Van Fordell to gain the level of Jedi Master, and within a few years Kurs managed to earn a spot on the Jedi Council.

Kurs has many contacts and friends across the galaxy from his many years of field work. He is a skilled fighter, and an even more skilled diplomat. He has personally negotiated and overseen the inclusion of several systems into the Republic.

Personality: Quirky, tries too hard to be funny. Very ADHD, except when it comes to his work. Often does not work well with other commandos (in fact he often annoys them). Loyalties lie with the Republic, not with money. He is one of the best shots in the galaxy, his Force sensitivity granting him the skills of an amazing marksman. He knows his skill, and is sometimes over-confident about it.
Appearance: 6'3", 200 lbs., very built, very athletic, very handsome, always wears a silly grin, blonde hair, green eyes, hardly ever clean shaven, he always seems to have a blonde 5 o'clock shadow
Weapons: X-45 sniper rifle, scatterblaster, 2 DC-15s side arm blasters, several thermal detonators, EMPs, and smoke grenades, buck knife
Armor/Clothing:
Set 1: Ghillie suit style camouflage commando armor, combat boots, knife sheath over upper left breastplate, helmet (similar to Katarn-class commando armor helmets, without the diverging lines on the bottom of the helmet, instead the line continues down. Also has a flip down targeting range-finder similar to the one on Boba Fett's helmet), hip holsters on both legs for blasters, special holders on back to place both sniper rifle and scatterblaster, bandolier holding grenades strung over left sholder.

History: Ben Darklighter was born on Corellia and almost immediately recognized as Force-Sensitive. He was offered by his parents to the Jedi Order to be trained as a Jedi. During his training as a youngling in the Order he focused on developing healing abilities. When he turned 13, though, his fate changed, as he still was not chosen by a master to become a Padawan. At this point he was offered a ticket back to Corellia, to live a mundane life, or a ticket to the harsh Jedi world of Ilum, to undergo training as a GLA Commando. He chose the latter.

He was originally placed in training to become a combat medic, due to his abilities with the Force, but when his skill as a marksman was tapped his calling quickly became apparent. He excelled through the sniper training program, and was often regarded as the best sniper seen in generations. Unfortunately for him his personality often landed him on the bad side of many of his comrades, and he soon found himself on many solo scouting missions.

Then his fate changed, as he accompanied a new Jedi Master on a diplomatic mission to attempt to include Sullust in the Republic. The planet was actually still under Sith control, and instead of peace talks, Jedi Master Kurs Janta and the commando found themselves assisting in a rebellion to regain the freedom of Sullust from the Sith Empire. They succeeded, and Master Janta soon put in a request to continue going on missions with the commando. Captain Darklighter has often been at Kurs' side ever since.
