The Jedi Order
History: The Jedi Order fell in the wake of the collapse of the Galactic Alliance and the rise of the Sith Empire. Their temple on Coruscant controlled by the Sith, many of the few surviving Jedi Masters relocated to Ilum. During the time that the rebellion was being planned on Corellia, a secret temple was constructed in the caverns of Ilum, where the Jedi rebuilt and remained in seclusion until the Republic could strike. Along with recruiting Force-Sensitives from Republic sympathetic planets like Corellia, Glee Anselm, Ithor, Naboo, and Nova Calamari, the Jedi organized the creation of a ground military. The footmen were non-Force Sensitive children, usually from families in support of the founding of a New Republic. Commanders of the armies were Force-Sensitive children that were not accepted as Padawans, who, instead of being sent off to the Agricultural Corps as was the case in previous years, were trained as commandos and commanders who used their Force abilities to serve the Galactic Liberation Army. The Jedi served as generals to the GLA. The Jedi army was pivotal in the re-establishment of the Galactic Republic. Following the string of victories at the hands of the Republic, the order expanded to include a second temple on Yavin 4, to train Jedi, and to separate the Jedi Padawans from the armies of the Jedi. The Jedi Council also relocated to Yavin 4. The Jedi now serve as guardians of the Republic, and often serve as diplomats for the Senate.

Government System: The Jedi Order is controlled by a main council lead by a Grand Master and five councils under that. Each council consists of twelve members. The current Grand Master is Ryden Kantos, a Bothan.
