Jedi Master Kurs Janta gazed at the circle of holograms on the table in front of him. To his left Ryden Kantos spoke. “We must redirect forces to Iridonia. We have almost won the fight here.”
“I agree,” returned another council member. “Mustafar is obviously well taken care of by Masters Kantos and Janta. We must focus our attacks elsewhere.”
“But what of the reports of the massing of a Sith fleet near Mygeeto?” inquired another council member. “Should we not reinforce the Ithor system?”
Kurs stared quietly at the hologram of a male Twi’lek. “Master Olan, what do you think we should do?”
“What?” spoke the Twi’lek, snapping out of the daze he previously held. “Oh, I think Iridonia would be a fine place for our next assault. It is obvious Mustafar will soon be under our control. Ithor's defenses are more than adequate to deal with what the Emperor throws at us there.”

Darth Mallus paced quickly back and forth, his mask pumping quickly as his boots clicked against the durasteel floor. The window he stood in front of was blanketed by a sea of stars. He stopped his pacing and stared out the window as he heard another being approach.
"My lord," spoke the young female human as she knelt before the Emperor.
"What is it?" Mallus returned quickly, without turning his gaze from the stars.
"The fleet is prepared, my master. The first wave has just entered hyperspace, and the second awaits your command."
"Good. Tell them all to begin their jump to hyperspace in ten minutes."
"Yes, my lord."
"Also, I want you to leave the ship, and go back to Coruscant until I-"
"But master, wasn't I supposed to lead the assau-"
Mallus quickly turned toward the woman and latched his hand around her throat. He then lifted her up and pressed her against the window.
"You dare question my orders, Darth Kyren?"
Grunting and groaning escaped from Kyren as she struggled to keep consciousness as the Kel Dor's hand closed her throat. She shook her head negatively
"Good," he said, releasing her. She dropped to the floor on her hands and knees, inhaling sharply and coughing. "Now, go to Coruscant. The Dark Council awaits your rendezvous there. I have a task which I need you to take care of."
"As you wish, my master," she coughed as she slowly rose back to her feet.

Three members of the Jedi Council sat within the council chambers on Yavin 4. Master Nov'as Olan and two other human men were surrounded by holograms of several other Jedi. The Twi'lek ran his hand down the length of one of his long, tan lekku. "Master Olan, is everything alright?" asked the hologram of Kantos, noticing his unwarranted distraction. "I'm fine Ryden."
Suddenly a hologram appeared in the middle of the circle. "Master Jedi, apologies for the interruption," a human in GLA uniform spoke quickly. "The Sith fleet near Mygeeto has just made a jump into hyperspace. Intelligence suggests their destination is the Yavin system."
"Impossible!" grumbled an Ithorian hologram. "They wouldn't dare attack us like that!"
"Actually, Master Hurof," spoke Nov'as, "they would."
The Twi'lek then quickly sprang to his feet, flicking the lightsaber from his belt, activating its blue blade and impaling one of the two council members through the chest before he could react. He retrieved his lightsaber from the freshly slain Jedi and turned to the other council member who had drawn his own saber.
"Nov'as, no!" cried Kantos as he watched the Twi'lek clash blades with the other human.
The Twi'lek quickly killed the other Jedi and activated a button on his wrist. Holograms of the other Jedi Masters began to flicker out as he began a transmission of his own. "Lord Mallus, I have begun the internal attack upon the Temple. Communications have been jammed; the Council is no longer a threat. I will activate my agents as soon as this transmission ends."

"How could we not have felt this?!" asked Kurs, holding his forehead in agony.
"Master Olan is powerful with the Force. He used our trust of him to cloud his true intentions," responded Kantos, calmly and deliberately.
"We have to help them!" said Kurs, rising from his chair.
"No, Kurs. We can't help them now. We must contact Ilum and gather troops. That is the only thing we can do now."
"But Master!"
"It hurts me too. He was my friend just as much as he was yours. My heart is heavy, knowing he would turn on us like this."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alarms began to sound around the temple of Yavin 4. Nov'as Olan walked out of the council chamber, killing the two Jedi guarding the doors. He quickly made his way to a classroom, where a Jedi Master was reassuring his students of their safety.
"Danen, it is time."
"Yes, Master Olan."
"Take these younglings to the lower levels. Gather as many of them as you can."
"What's happening Master Olan?" a young female Twi'lek interrupted.
"We are freeing you from the shackles of the Jedi, my dear. Soon you will learn your true power," he replied. He then turned back to the Jedi Master. "Inform any of the others along your way. The Sith fleet is incoming."
"What?!" one of the other children cried in horror. "They're evil!"
"Do not speak ill of your new order, youngling," the Twi'lek replied with a sick smile.
"I'll never join them!" the boy cried. He activated his lightsaber and ran at the traitor.
Nov'as grabbed his lightsaber and impaled the boy through the chest as he attacked. As he dropped, he turned to the rest of the younglings. "If you don't wish to be liberated like this one here, I'll be happy to deliver you from this world as well."
Several of the children started to cry as he left the room.
As the stars reformed back to their original shape, Yavin 4 appeared outside of the window Darth Mallus stood before. He quickly turned and headed toward the exit of the bridge, barking an order as he left. "Begin bombarding their defenses. Their fleet is scattered, wipe them up quickly. Destroy any escaping Jedi shuttle. No one leaves this system without my permission."
The doors to the turbolift shut, and soon Mallus was in the hangar, climbing into his Sith fighter. As his ship flew out of the Sith battlecruiser several other Sith fighters adorned with the Purge Squadron emblem formed behind him, and they quickly blasted their way down to the planet.
"You know that this is our only opportunity to strike, Master Janta."
"Yes, I know Ryden. I just don't feel right, using the killing of our brothers and sisters to do this. It isn't right. I should be helping them!"
"Think, Kurs. You know better than this. Mallus has left Coruscant open. This is the only window we will have for years. You honor all of their sacrifices by capitalizing on Mallus's mistake."
Kurs was silent for a moment. "You.. are right. But who are we going to contact with how little time we have?"
"Well, you've always got me here," a voice interrupted. Captain Ben Darklighter entered the room with the two Jedi.
"So I've got one sniper."
"Well the Mandolorians have expressed interest in a mission such as this for quite some time, and we already have one of their Knights here. I'm sure he could offer support," said the Bothan.
Kurs began to offer up an argument, but decided against it. He then turned to Ben. "Go get the ship ready. I've got to go talk to a Mandolorian Knight."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mallus climbed out of his fighter. He stood with several other Sith warriors in front of the entrance to the Jedi Temple. "Offer them no mercy," he ordered gravely.
All of them activated their swords and followed him into the temple, mowing down several Knights as they made their way in. Soon Nov'as Olan stood before him, kneeling.
"Lord Mallus, the temple is yours."
"You have done well, Olan."
"Thank you, my lord," he replied, as he rose back up. "My agents have begun exterminating the older Jedi and rounding up younglings for transport back to Coruscant."
"Very good. I must say, I am impressed. You have excelled far more than I thought any Jedi ever could," spoke Mallus, as the two started walking further into the temple.
"In fact, it's almost disappointing that I must dispose of you."
"What?!"
"You betrayed the Jedi so easily. I would never accept you into my ranks," he replied, activating his orange blade.
"You wouldn't! This victory is because of me!" angrily shouted Nov'as, as he grabbed his own lightsaber.
"You're right. I never would have been able to get the loyalty of any other council member. Congratulations on being the weakest willed Jedi I could find," he laughed at the Twi'lek.
In anger Nov'as rushed at him with his sword, and Mallus easily deflected the attack. He then tried again, but to no avail. Mallus then returned with his own assault, which he was barely able to defend against. Mallus laughed as he continued his onslaught.

"Kurs, you're not going in there without me," spoke a stubborn young woman, as Kurs packed his things.
"Ryth, you don't need to be in that kind of dang-"
"Because I haven't ever been in shit before? You're already short in numbers, and Ben's the only one in the galaxy with a better shot than me. I'm going."
"Fine. But I'm not going to like it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mallus pushed Nov'as away with the Force, pulling the Twi'lek's lightsaber from his hand with the Force. Nov'as slammed hard into the ground, and coughed as he turned back, to see Mallus holding his lightsaber hilt.
"Let me see how dedicated you are," he spoke, a smirk developing under his mask.
The hilt floated in front of Mallus and then shattered. He quickly snatched the blue crystal and let the other pieces fall to the ground. "You're worse than most I've seen. It's an insult to think I allied with you."
The Twi'lek cursed at Mallus, who laughed and crushed the blue crystal.
Mallus turned to his Sith entourage. "Kill him, and then kill every living thing in this temple. We must remove their imperfection from the galaxy."
“I agree,” returned another council member. “Mustafar is obviously well taken care of by Masters Kantos and Janta. We must focus our attacks elsewhere.”
“But what of the reports of the massing of a Sith fleet near Mygeeto?” inquired another council member. “Should we not reinforce the Ithor system?”
